It's OFFICIALLY thanksgiving break!!!! yes. I'm in my own home, had dinner with the family, made some plans for this week along with my work schedule... thank god! By this morning... I had to leave. As ARC, myself and 1 other person had to be the last to leave our building and it was such a long wait from Thurs to sat. at noon. The only thing that would make this break better would be for me to be on my way to Germany right now to see my baby or for him to be here. 3 weeks today and I will see him again! I love my floor and the people in my building but this break has been a long waiting line... and I was the last one in line and the first one to join... I plan on sleeping in every day... decided to work 6pm-midnight every day, not sure if that was the best idea... but gives me a lot of free time i suppose. not sure about the thanksgiving plans yet... my fam, inlaws? more.... who knows.

Well life has been crazy lately. busy busy busy in the life of a nursing major. clinical has been awesome at DHMC! I even got to watch open heart surgery a few weeks ago and saw someone be cardioverted. I can't believe it is almost thanksgiving break! I'm headed home to work for the week on sat. and when we come back we only have 2 weeks left of classes! My amazing boyfriend comes home in 25 days and I am soooo unbelievably excited to pick him up from the airport.

My 21st birthday was on halloween, so needless to say the weekend was a blast!!! We went out all weekend and had an amazing time with some great people... I was batman and my roommate was robin! The best team ever!

I have a ridiculous amount of work to do this week... just like the past few weeks and should probably get going.

Sunday night at 12:12 am I received a phone call from one of my best friends Kelsey to let me know that her cousin and my friend Mac Pratt had past away from her 3rd battle with cancer. Mac was one of the greatest people I have and will ever know. Just think of the absolute best all around person you know, charismatic, fun, smart, hilarious, beautiful.... she was all of that and more. I will always keep her in my heart and know she is looking down on me.... those sunny days will always be because of her! Through this hard event I have continued to think a lot about life, it's meaning, and my little part in it. I guess the only thing you can do is to keep on moving, the days will pass, and you will grow.
Mac's favorite song has been on replay in my head all week...

the time ticks by.

As this semester ticks by slowly I've learned more about myself, my limits, my ambitions, my goals, and my weaknesses. I've been very busy lately and haven't had the time to stop and smell the roses all but a few short times. I've come to see that I am understanding my nursing classes better and everything seems to be coming full circle that way; but I've seen friendships of mine grow stronger or be lost all together within the past 6 months. I've started working at home, at school, while having a full 17 credit course load, and a long distance relationship with my love and my family. Balancing schoolwork and social time has been going well but fitting in the work at home as well as events and mediating I have been doing as ARC of an entire building has proven to be a juggling act. One week more of my time will be devoted to schoolwork and the next ResLife, and the next work at home. When I was home this weekend I went to my highschool's homecoming field hockey game and realized I felt extremely awkward there because I knew more of the parents and teacher than the players. I left early and have decided there isn't a real reason for me to go back at this point because my life has led me away from there and on to new things. I can't believe it's already October because this summer and school year has flown by in the blink of an eye it seems. BUT at the same time I just want it to be December already and time for my amazing boyfriend to come home and have a break from this life, and a chance to catch up on my other life; the home living working girl. I've been into photography again alot lately which has me interested and other things as well....

I'm on duty right now waiting for it to be midnight so I can go to sleep just to wake up at 5am and go to clinical at DHMC, a 45 minute drive from here.

One super exciting thing right now is my boyfriend just sent me a pkg from Germany which i can't wait to get and see exactly what is inside!

I put some pictures from the "floor wars" event Crawford held last week and of the flooding from last weekend below and will put up some others soon. I promise.

T.G.I.F.

This week have been the longest week ever it seems! I started clinical at DHMC this Monday and was there again on wed. Tues and Thurs i had class ALL day both days. I also had my first paper for my psych class due this morning and a med surg exam yesterday, which i PASSED!!!! So, needless to say it has been a week for the books. I'm headed home to NH this afternoon to work at my job there tonight, tomorrow night, and Sunday. Then back here for more fun! I haven't been sleeping well lately which is somewhat normal for me when I get stressed out but has lead me to take a lot of naps recently. I had a great weekend last week and got to have a lot of fun!

I moved my side of my room around and fixed my futon so it fits nicely! It looks so much better than before and gives me more room I feel. I got to tie dye this week which is one of my favorite things to do! So now I have tie dyed pillow cases and plan to do my sheets next week! 

I am still missing my boyfriend very much but have been able to talk to him on a more regular basis this week so that is helpful. I.L.Y. BG.

I installed a new car stereo into my car last night- this process has been a nightmare! I had to order 3 different wiring harnesses because everyone that was for an 08 chevy aveo didn't fit. Then after that disaster and a months wait to finally put it in i found out last night that they holding box doesn't fit!!! We figured out how to put my stereo in with the old box so it's all hooked up and looking a little funny. Now I have to order a box that will fit into my car- how many tries do you think that will take?

My new tattoo!

Well I should probably be studying for my pathophysiology test tmw, but I have no motivation to do so. This is the tattoo I got almost 2 weeks ago with my girls! Lately I've just been going to class and working. I have been having some issues with the residents that live on my floor because they continually disrespect my RA's and myself. I had a chat with them about it last night as well as a few other topics. 

It's started to get colder this week and my toes are freezing! The leaves on the trees are beginning to turn colors but not enough to go take some pictures yet... I finally got my awesome camera to work again and I feel like I've been taking pictures of everything recently. 

Life is pretty boring lately which has lead me to doing alot of soul searching and figuring who I am and what I who to become. 

Sometimes you have to lose who you were to find who you are.
